These DIY Wax melts make wonderful gifts for the adults in your life! It isn’t suggested to use cinnamon around children under the age of 10 as it is quite a strong oil. So, please be aware of that before using these around your littles!
I have always loved wax melts and I was more than excited to find a DIY Beeswax tart recipe online. I tried it out but I was unhappy with how long it took for the beeswax to melt. Not only that, it didn’t throw the scent as much as I would have liked. However, I loved the sweet smell that came from the beeswax itself.
So, I talked to my partner in crime, Fizzy, because she makes the most yummy smelling soy wax candles ever. Now sure, I could buy her candles (and I have and will!) but she also knows that sometimes I like to take two seconds out of my chaotic schedule to unwind with some kind of instant-gratification crafty type thing.
She was my sounding board while I worked out the kinks in this recipe and shared all of her no-it-all-candle-goddess knowledge.
These melt more like I wanted them to while still capturing the sweet aroma of the beeswax. It softens the overall aroma of the oils in a delightfully scrumptous way.
You can also use fragrance oils in place of the essential oils. For this recipe you would use 1/4-1/2 ounce of fragrance oil.
