Sweet Valley is stunned by the news: Beautiful young Elizabeth Wakefield lies in a coma, on the brink of death after a horrible motorcycle accident. Elizabeth’s boyfriend Todd is consumed by guilt; he was driving and escaped unharmed. He feels totally helpless. All he can do is wait for a change in Elizabeth’s condition–a change that might mean the loss of the only girl he’s ever loved. But no one is more shattered than Elizabeth’s twin, Jessica. As she keeps watch over the silent body of her sister, she’s overwhelmed by despair. Without Elizabeth, can life go on?
Jessica and Liz practically swap places with their annoying factors. Jessica becomes the responsible twin and Liz, newly awakened from a coma is completely out of control.
She’s skipping class, stealing from her friends and using her school newspaper column to discredit people she has a grudge against.
She turned into Jessica. UGH!
I.HATED.HER. Truly, I think I hated her more than I’ve ever hated Jessica because at least I expected it of Jessica!
This personality shift apparently has to do with Liz waking from the coma but as per the usual, her friends never consider talking to her parents. And they’re too busy buying her sexy pajamas and bikinis to notice that she’s acting out.
The most disgusting part of this book, however, is Bruce Patman trying to date rape Elizabeth. Seriously, he belongs in jail!
”
Not interested in fun and games anymore, huh? Of was that all an act? It’s not very nice to set a guy up, Liz,” he said menacingly.
Elizabeth knew she had to get out of there. She lurched toward the door, trying to get past him, but he blocked her way.
“Where are you going?” he asked angrily.
“Let me out of here!”
“Oh, no, you don’t. You’re going to give me what I want, what you promised.”
This scene progresses to him grabbing her arms and telling her that he has strong hands and that she won’t get away. He also tells her that she will give him what she wants or he will tell the whole school that she wanted this. Then he forcefully kisses her. Liz breaks free after biting him and she escapes into the night.
I can’t even. Y’all. I can’t. I want to junk punch him. Can I say that here on my family friend blog? Oh well, I’m going to. Because it’s the truth.
Just for once couldn’t I pick up a 5-star SVH book? I’m almost thinking this whole series is going to be a bust.
My rating now: 1 star
What I would have rated this at 13: 1 star

I gotta say… I have so little interest in rereading these now. I’d just be too angry every time.
Time for Babysitters Club!

Right?! I think ghost writers take over at #8 so I hope they improve
