Dive into an Amish country love triangle in this third book of the Prairie State Friends series. Priscilla Herschberger finds herself pursued by Elam, a childhood friend from her community, and David, an outsider raised in the modern world. Elam would do almost anything to convince Priscilla that David would never fit into the Amish way. Will flames of jealousy rage out of control and ruin lives? Can forgiveness allow love and trust to grow?
The Restoration is the last book in the Prairie State Friends series by Wanda Brunstetter. The only thing I didn’t care for in this book was love triangle x2. Yes, two different girls involved in a love triangle just seemed a little overkill to me.
Out of all three of the book, I liked the second in the series the best. I adored Leah and appreciated getting to spend more time with her and Adam. I love a book that revisits characters from other books within the series. It makes me feel as if I’m visiting with an old friend.
Overall, I enjoyed The Restoration. Love triangles aside, I can’t say that I liked who one of the characters ended up with. Elaine (from book one) was not a favorite of mine and I honestly didn’t like her with Ben or Jonah. But, the rest of the story made up for my disappointment with the Elaine angle. I just didn’t like that girl!
This series was roughly a 4-star rating for me. I had a hard time connecting with the characters from the first book. The second book was outstanding and this one was a good solid 4. Would I read it again? Yes. Would I recommend it to others? Absolutely.
