It’s been an insane week. In fact, this wrap up almost didn’t happen. I’m wondering if I’m crazy for putting it out at 10 P.M. on a Saturday night but here I am. No one can ever accuse me of being sane. It’s just been chaos this past week. To catch you all up to speed with what’s going on in real life, I’ll give an update.
I returned to Winston-Salem this week to meet with doctors/therapists about some health issues that I’m having. As some of you know, I was officially diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome earlier this year. And as of this week, I was also diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia.
Do you all remember when I opened my dryer, put my arm in and the dryer didn’t stop? Well, I found out this week that I have nerve damage and decreased pain perception in that hand.
Additionally, the bones in my hands are just collapsing in on one another and they’re wanting me to order some different bracing. I have upcoming appointments for a wide range of tests. From echocardiograms to mri…my year is shaping up to be one that will be spent in hospitals for testing.
I spent M, W, Th and Friday in clinics or hospital this week for either the kids or myself. So, I’m exhausted. I didn’t get as much reading done. I think I read three books maybe. I’m too tired to even look it up. But, that’s life. This upcoming week will hopefully be better!
I’ll keep you all updated! I’d appreciate prayers and well wishes!

Oh wow!! I’m so sorry you’re having so many health problems! And the damage from the dryer on top of that?! ?? I hope the appointments don’t get too overwhelming and maybe they can get a handle on things quickly!
Kristin says
For now they have me chugging homemade gatorade with 500mg of sodium a day to try to help the POTS. If that doesn’t work, I may have to go on medication.
I’m currently staying in “fat burn” zone about 8.5 hours a day. Some of that in the “cardio” range…just while walking. It’s no wonder I have no energy and all these headaches.
Shanah - Bionic Book Worm says
Wow. I hope you can keep away from medication for a while at least!
Kristin says
Oh and the dryer damage is kinda because of the EDS thing. It was more likely for me to have that kind of injury with a connective tissue disorder. So, kinda related/kinda not.
The Cozy Pages says
Oh no Kristin. I’m so sorry you have having all these health issues. I will keep you in my prayers. I hope you will be able to stay off of the medication indeed.
Kristin says
I appreciate it! <3
