Happy St. Patrick’s Day to those who celebrate and Happy Birthday to me! It’s been one crazy week here— the story of my life. First, we had snow on Monday and then on Tuesday, it was 70 degrees!
Quick family update:
Piper was approved for and will have her wheelchair delivered on Monday!
She felt well enough to go to a birthday party last night. However, this morning she had a bad POTs (postural orthostatic tachycardia) attack and had moments where she lost consciousness. Her blood pressure was 88/36 this morning because she got too hot in the shower. We’ve been pushing fluids to try to avoid the emergency room as we don’t want her to get sick. Please keep her in your prayers!
That’s about it. With the craziness of this week, I read only four of the five books I wanted to read. However, the last book to read is a novella. It is only 3:30 as I type this so, I will probably actually knock it out today.

Reading Goals this Week
I’m including Star of Night on this list as I feel pretty good that it will be finished today. My goals this week look insane but two of these books are written very juvenile and even put together are fewer pages than a single full-size book as I normally will read. Finish First and The Pirate Bride are also shorter.

Said a prayer for Piper. I sincerely hope you can avoid the ER.
And wow… snow and 70 degrees in the same week?? crazy.

Crazy, right?
I’ve forced fluids in Piper all day. She’s had 80 ounces of (diy) electrolyte drink today and her symptoms have improved. I was confused as to what triggered her symptoms THIS bad and realized her dad had taken a shower right before she went into the bathroom. It was still humid in the bathroom and the humidity is what caused her to collapse. She doesn’t handle warm temps or humidity at all.
The Cozy Pages says
My goodness Kristin. That is scary. How do you handle keeping everything under appropriate conditions?
Prayers all around indeed for all of you.

Well, we’ve learned! A year ago I would have ran her to the ER. The last time she did this…I DID. By the time they got her in a room I had her symptoms under control (thanks to cardiologist telling me what to do!)
So, today, I knew I needed to hydrate her and to call an ambulance if she didn’t respond. Why ambulance? Well, that would get treatment for her much faster. ER trip would mean we had to sit there until they called her back.

Amazing how you’ve also had to become a healthcare advocate.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you will get Piper’s symptoms under control and that no ERs or ambulances will be seeing you soon. I hope you are taking some care of yourself too!

Definitely trying <3 Thank you for the well wishes! It means a lot :-)
