Yes, I’m a day late and running behind on all my posts this weekend. Reflections almost didn’t happen and it’s a miracle this wrap-up is even being written. Why? Well, cause…just cause. It’s week 50 of the year. Need I say anymore? Fine, here’s my lame excuse…
I have made about 40 bars of soap so far this week and three sugar scrubs. I took the kids to therapy on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Music on Monday and Tuesday. Dance on Friday. Dress rehearsal on Saturday morning…I left there and got two of the girls to a music engagement they were playing at. From there, I came home, curled hair, applied makeup, picked up the girls from their engagement and got my two youngest out to their dance recital. Oh, and I managed to squeeze in a day trip out-of-town all day Friday before dance class that evening.
I. am. dead. Tired that is. One day, I’ll be back to my happy little blogging routine that doesn’t involve blogging a whole day late…one day. I hope.

- [11 Dec] The Marvelous Mud House by April Graney
★★★★
Genre: Children’s-Christian
My Thoughts:
Overall, this book is lovely. I feel like it’s best suited for a child 4-7 but my 10-year old really enjoyed learning about Kenya as well. She loved the illustrations and the ‘Learn the Words of Kenya’ addition to the back of the book.A complimentary copy of this book was provided by B&H. I was not required to write a positive review, and have not been compensated for this. All opinions are my own. - [12 Dec] Solve by Christmas|Spotlight
10 days remain for a chance to win! Grand Prize: Christmas themed basket for the tour, which will include a paperback copy of Solve by Christmas and The Swaddling Clothes by Amber Schamel as well as a Christmas terrarium jar, and a Solve by Christmas notepad.
- [12 Dec] Solve by Christmas by Amber Schamel
★★
Genre: Mystery-Christian
My Thoughts:
The characters in Solve by Christmas are loveable and it’s easy to want them to succeed. I feel that with time and more focus on one solid storyline rather than multiple arcs that this book could have been a really fun read.A complimentary copy of this book was provided by Celebrate Lit. I was not required to write a positive review, and have not been compensated for this. All opinions are my own. - [13 Dec] Wordless Wednesday: The Merry Side
- [13 Dec] A Gathering Tempest (A Broken Tides Prequel) by Catherine Jones Payne
★★★★★
Genre: Ya-Fantasy-Secular
My Thoughts:
This series is one of my favorites for 2017. The author is engaging on social media and this prequel shows that she listens to her fans. When people were saying, “I need more,” she delivered. I look forward to being a fan for a long time to come. You can currently download a free copy of ‘A Gathering Tempest’ from Amazon or B&N. - [14 Dec] The New Dark by Lorraine Thomson
★
Genre: YA-Dystopian-Secular
My Thoughts:
The world was not developed—at all.
The characters were one-dimensional and clueless.
The symbolism is sloppy and not explained.
The whole book was a mishmash of every YA Dystopian you’ve ever read-only, without a plot. The cover is lovely though. Not lovely enough for me to continue reading this series but lovely nonetheless.A complimentary copy of this book was provided by Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review, and have not been compensated for this. All opinions are my own. - [15 Dec] Favorite Holiday Diffuser Blends|Aromatherapy
